Alexandra von der Weth

After my music degree in Opera singing at the "Richard-Strauss-Konservatorium" in Munich and a scholarship at the "Deutsche Oper Berlin" I was engaged at the the "Deutsche Oper am Rhein" in Düsseldorf/Duisburg. There I sang title roles, as for instance "Manon", "La Traviata", "Lucia di Lammermoor" or "Norma" with great success.
With "Manon" I started a big international career. Guest performances led me to the Lyric Opera Chicago, the Vienna State Opera, the Metropolitan Opera New York or the Royal Opera House Covent Garden London.
During the rehearsals for a modern opera in Zurich I suddenly lost my voice as the result of a burnout, which I realized months later. The physicians diagnosed a variation in shape of my vocal chords and adviced an operation. Every performance was cancelled. After an odyssey consulting ENT-physicians across Europe and some premature approaches to come back to stage finally I went to a speech therapist. Three months later my vocal chords had recovered so far that an operation was not necessary anymore.
Later on I regained my mental balance with the help of a hypnosystemic coaching. So my voice could get back its power and former quality. See endorsement underneath.
Already before my burnout I had tought young singers for years and also occupied myself with the physiology of the voice. In the course of this I always was in contact with laryngologists and speech therapists. Finally the experience of overcoming my own crisis was the motivation to deepen even more my knowledge about this theme. Because of figuring out the phenomen voice in neuronal respects I am in permanent conversation with a neurobiologist of the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf.
Besides I have learnt at the institut "Intakkt" how to apply the hypnosystemic communication against vocal problems.
Therefore I have founded the "Institut für Stimmbildung" in the "Center for ambulant Medicine ZAM".
We partners of ZAM have made it our aim to support human beings in crisis situations or to help people to avoid them.
